A study by http://www.Groupola.com asking women across the UK ‘when you are on a date, how much money do you expect to be spent on you?’ has revealed that more than 1 in 5, 22%, of women that live in Essex would be happy with 20 being spent on them, and 61% confessed that they are a ‘cheap date’.

The research commissioned by http://www.Groupola.com of 1,655 women shows that only 6% of Essex women expect a date to cost 150 and a further 52% are prepared to split the bill when they are out on a romantic date.

According to the research, 29% of women in Liverpool think the ‘perfect’ first date would be to be ‘taken out for dinner’ while 17% admitted their ‘perfect’ first date would be a ‘rom-com movie at the cinema’.

When asked the question by http://www.Groupola.com ‘do you think you are a cheap date?’ below are the top 10 towns and cities that are home to the women who admitted they are:

1. Essex – 61%

2. Liverpool – 59%

3. Newport – 57%

4. Northampton – 44%

5. Slough – 41%

6. Glasgow – 38%

7. Hull – 32%

8. Blackburn – 27%

9. Middlesbrough – 24%

10. Swansea – 19%

The majority of the respondents in Essex, 56%, think that their friends are ‘cheap dates’ while less than 1 in 10 of the women who live in Swansea , 8% believe their friends would be ‘cheap dates’.

Of those polled in Essex, 27% would be happy if they were ‘taken for a burger’ on their first date, however 21% would prefer to be ‘taken out for a curry’.

The study by http://www.Groupola.com found that almost a third, 31%, of the women polled in Liverpool would ‘go on a second date’ with a man who took them out for dink in the ‘local pub’ whilst 49% said they would split the bill.

More than a fifth, 21%, of Essex girls admitted that they had slept with somebody following the first date. With all women included in this statistic though, just 8% said they’d spent the night with their date after the first date.

16% of the women asked in Newport would find it acceptable if their date took them to their location on a bus and 41% wouldn’t mind if their date used a ‘money off coupon’ in the restaurant on their first date.

Mark Pearson, managing director of http://www.Groupola.com said,

“This research was certainly interesting; in a strange way it is endearing to discover that women wouldn’t judge a man if he took her out on a date on the bus, or just took her to a fast food burger bar. When money is tight, it’s not always feasible to spend a great deal on a date, but there are ways around splashing too much cash.”

He continues,

“At Groupola.com, we often have fantastic deals offering money off at restaurants or savings on special discount cards and would encourage anyone to check it out before going off an a date and spending a huge amount.”
